For more information about Publication Channels, see Publishing content using Publication Channels in Studio Server.
Name
The name of the Publication Channel. This name is displayed to the users as part of the properties of a file that is stored in Studio Server.
Description
A description of the Publication Channel. This is for internal use in Studio Server only. Use it as a reference to indicate what the Publication Channel is about to distinguish it from other Publication Channels in the system.
Publication Channel Type
Choose from one of the following:
- Print. For 'publishing' to a printed output in the form of a PDF which is then used for printing. This PDF is created when an InDesign layout is assigned to a dedicated Workflow Status.
- Web. When publishing to a channel on the Internet, such as Drupal, Facebook, WordPress, or Twitter.
Note: This type has been discontinued and support for Drupal, Facebook, WordPress, and Twitter has been removed in Enterprise Server 10.6. This type can still be used for organizational purposes such as sorting Issues in the Issue Manager of Studio by their Publication Channel type.
- Other. When publishing to a channel other than Print or Web.
Note: This type has been discontinued. It can still be used for organizational purposes such as sorting Issues in the Issue Manager of Studio by their Publication Channel type.
Publish System
Choose from one of the following:
- Choose Enterprise when the Publication Channel is set to type 'Print'. This is the default setting; it technically is not a publishing system, publishing is done by the creation of a PDF which is then used for printing.
- Choose Drupal, Facebook, WordPress, or Twitter when the Publication Channel is set to type 'Web' and you want to publish to that channel.
Note: Support for publishing to Drupal, Facebook, WordPress, and Twitter has been removed in Enterprise Server 10.6.
- Choose the relevant entry when Other when publishing to a channel other than Print or Web.
Note: Support for this feature has been discontinued in Enterprise Server 10.6.
Suggestion Provider
This option is not used anymore and should be set to None. It has been removed in Studio Server 10.11.
