When creating or editing an article, image, Dossier, or any other type of file or object in Studio, be aware of the following restrictions:
- The name cannot be longer than 63 characters
- Some characters are not allowed
Name length restriction
The files that are worked on in Studio are stored in Studio Server. In this system, an object cannot have a name that is longer than 63 characters.
When a name is entered that is longer than 63 characters, Studio automatically removes all characters after position 63.
Invalid characters
When a file is created or edited in Studio, its name may not contain any of the following characters:
Character | Description |
---|---|
' | Single quote - straight |
` | Single quote - back |
‘ | Single quote open - curly |
’ | Single quote close - curly |
" | Double quote - straight |
“ | Double quote open - curly |
” | Double quote close - curly |
~ | Tilde |
! | Exclamation mark |
@ | At |
# | Pound / number / hash |
$ | Dollar |
% | Percent |
^ | Carat |
* | Asterisk |
\ | Backslash |
/ | Forward slash |
| | Pipe / bar |
: | Colon |
; | Semi-colon |
< | Less than |
> | More than |
? | Question mark |
When typing any of these characters in Studio, the character is automatically removed.
Integration with Assets
Another way of adding files to Studio Server is by adding them from WoodWing Assets.
However, fewer characters are considered to be invalid in Assets than in Studio. When a file is added from Assets to Studio therefore, the name of the file in Assets Server is adjusted by removing those characters that are invalid in Studio.
