Under rare circumstances, scenarios can occur where an issue exists on Adobe DPS but not in Enterprise Server, or the link between the issue in Enterprise Server and its published version on the Adobe DPS Server is broken.
As a result, the normal workflow of using Content Station to remove the issue from Adobe is therefore not possible.
To facilitate such circumstances, issues can be directly removed from Adobe DPS by using the Adobe DPS Maintenance page in Enterprise Server.
Warning: This feature should only be used when an issue cannot be removed by using the Unpublish option in the Digital Publishing Application in Content Station (see the Digital Publishing Tools User Guide, chapter 5, Managing and Publishing Content). This should only occur under special circumstances. When removing an issue which is still set as Published in Content Station, synchronization issues may occur between Enterprise Server and Adobe DPS. Use this feature at your own risk. |
How to remove an issue from Adobe DPS depends on the state that the issue is in:
- The issue exists only at Adobe
- The issue exists in Enterprise and at Adobe
Verify this by checking the 'In Enterprise' column for the issue on the Adobe DPS Maintenance page.
Removing an issue that exists only at Adobe
Note: Issues that exists only at Adobe are marked as 'No' in the 'In Enterprise' column on the Adobe DPS Maintenance page.
Step 1. Access the Adobe DPS Maintenance page.
Step 1a. In Enterprise Server, click Integrations in the Maintenance menu or on the Home page. A page with all integrated services appears.
Step 1b. Click DPS Issues.
The Adobe DPS Maintenance page appears.
Step 2. Click the Remove icon for the issue that needs to be removed.
A message appears asking you to confirm the action.
Step 2. Click Yes.
Removing an issue that exists in Enterprise and at Adobe
Note: Issues that exists in Enterprise and at Adobe are marked as 'Yes' in the 'In Enterprise' column on the Adobe DPS Maintenance page.
Removing issues that exists in Enterprise and at Adobe is normally done by using Content Station (see the Digital Publishing Tools User Guide, chapter 5, Managing and Publishing Content). However, in rare occasions the link between the issue in Enterprise Server and its published version on the Adobe DPS Server might get broken.
Example: Consider the following scenario:
Here, issues B and C are linked, but A and X are not. Issue A might have been published at some stage but has since been unpublished. Issue X is most likely to be a result of an erratic operation which occurred when issue A, B, or C was published. It should therefore be removed. Before this is done though, it is important to find out from which publishing action issue X was created: from publishing issue A, B, or C. This issue first needs to be unpublished by using Content Station. |
Step 1. Before removing an issue, make sure that its related issue is unpublished first by using Content Station (see introduction above).
Step 2. Access the Adobe DPS Maintenance page.
Step 2a. In Enterprise Server, click Integrations in the Maintenance menu or on the Home page. A page with all integrated services appears.
Step 2b. Click DPS Issues.
The Adobe DPS Maintenance page appears.
Step 3. Click the Remove icon for the issue that needs to be removed.
A message appears asking you to confirm the action.
Step 4. Click Yes.
