Entering often used special characters such as quotation marks can be cumbersome for users because it requires a dedicated panel or keyboard shortcut.
To make entering such characters in the Print editor easier, an automatic conversion can take place when a specific character is entered.
For the Print editor, such functionality is available for quotation marks.
Quotation marks
Info: This feature requires Studio 11.112 or higher. (See how to check which version of Studio is installed.)
A single or double straight quotation mark can be automatically converted to another character such as a curly or guillemet punctuation mark (a feature also known as 'smart quotes').
To configure the punctuation mark to use for the conversion, do the following:
Step 1. Access the Features page of the Studio Management Console.
Step 2. Use the quote conversion fields in the General section to enter the punctuation mark into which the straight quotation marks need to be converted.
Example: Enter « in the 'Double quote conversion - left side' field when an opening double quote needs to be converted to an opening guillemet mark.
Note: Users who are logged in when the change is made need to re-log to see the changes.
