Verifying if a file stored in Assets Server is used in the Studio Server workflow

Assets Server can be tightly integrated with Studio Server to make the files that are stored in Assets Server available in the workflow of Studio Server (for example by placing them on an InDesign layout).

One of the ways in which the system can be configured is keeping the original file stored in Assets Server while storing a reference to that file in Studio Server.

Note: This reference is also known as a shadow object.

Using Assets you can verify if a file that is stored in Assets Server is used in the Studio Server workflow and if so, where:

• The thumbnail of the file shows an Studio Server metadata flag.
• Studio Server metadata fields will show values, most importantly the field 'Used in Studio' is set to 'true'.
• The 'Used in Studio' panel shows all locations where the file is used in the Studio workflow (layouts, or Dossiers), as well as any variants that may exist for that file.
