Compatibility of Enterprise Server 10.5 – Home

This article describes the compatibility of Enterprise Server 10.5 with other systems.

Operating systems

Notes:

The operating systems listed are valid for the Web server running Enterprise Server and the File Transfer Server. When the database and the Application Server run on different machines, Enterprise does not add extra restrictions to the operating system that runs the database. When both are running in the same box the choice of the operating system is limited.

For all operating system flavors, it is recommended to use the 64-bit version to gain better performance.

Verify that any software that is installed by default by the operating systems such as PHP, Web browsers, and so on is also compatible with Enterprise Server. Update these applications when needed.

The compatibility of non-WoodWing products with operating systems has not been verified; please check this separately.

Linux

Enterprise Server 10.5 can be used with the following versions of Linux:

RedHat Linux 7 / CentOS 7

OpenSUSE 13

Windows

Enterprise Server 10.5 can be used with the following versions of Windows:

Windows Server 2016	Recommended version.
Windows Server 2012 / 2012 R2

MS SQL Server drivers

Supported drivers when connecting to MS SQL Server.

ODBC Driver 13.1 for SQL Server	Recommended version.
ODBC Driver 11 for SQL Server

SQL Driver 4.3 for PHP (PHP 7.0 / 7.1)

macOS

Status: Support for Enterprise Server 10.5 on macOS has been deprecated. This also includes support for sips, but does not apply to InDesign Server. For new installations and upgrades we strongly recommend to move to Linux or MS Windows. However, Enterprise Server 10.5 can be used on the versions of macOS that are listed as 'Deprecated' and is fully supported on those versions.

Note: The MAMP package can be used for development and demo environments but it is not suitable for production purposes. See www.mamp.info.

Assets Server / Elvis Server

Note: This information only applies to the compatibility between Assets/Elvis and Enterprise as a whole. Any plug-ins for Enterprise Server are not guaranteed to be backwards compatible for Enterprise versions that they are not released with.

Enterprise Server 10.5 can be used with the following versions of Assets Server and Elvis Server:

Assets Server
Elvis 6	Requires Elvis 6.18 or higher.

Databases

Note: When the database and the Application Server run on different machines, Enterprise does not add extra restrictions to the operating system that runs the database. When both are running in the same box the choice of the operating system is limited, as specified for the Application Server.

Microsoft SQL

Note: To connect to Microsoft SQL Server, the Application Server must run on a Windows Server as well. This is because the database driver for Microsoft SQL Server is not maintained for macOS and Linux.

Enterprise Server 10.5 can be used with the following versions of Microsoft SQL.

MySQL

Enterprise Server 10.5 can be used with the following versions of MySQL:

MySQL 5.7	Recommended version.

MySQL 5.6
Amazon Aurora for MySQL 5.7¹	Has not been tested by us but is to our knowledge fully compatible.

Oracle

Oracle is not supported for Enterprise Server 10.5.

Drupal

Enterprise Server 10.5 can be used with the following versions of Drupal:

ImageMagick

Enterprise Server 10.5 can be used with the following versions of ImageMagick:

ionCube Loaders

ionCube is used by Enterprise Server to encrypt some of its PHP modules.

Note: Do not install ionCube via the ionCube Web site. The correct version of ionCube to install is provided during the installation of Enterprise Server by an ionCube wizard.

Enterprise Server 10.5 can be used with the following versions of ionCube Loader.

ionCube Loader 10.0.2 (64-bit)

PHP

Enterprise Server 10.5 can be used with the following versions of PHP:

PHP 7.1

PHP 7.1.9 or any higher version of PHP 7.1.

Requires the x64 version of PHP; the x86 version is not supported.

For Windows: only use VC14 compiled versions of PHP 7.1, else PHP
will not be compatible with ionCube Loader 10.0.0.

Enterprise Server 10.5 can be used with the following versions of RabbitMQ:

Enterprise Server 10.5 can be used with the following versions of Studio and Content Station:

Supported until 1 July 2022.

Content Station 11 (Aurora)

Requires Content Station 11.42 or higher.

Support for using Content Station 11 with a specific version of Enterprise Server will be dropped once that version of Enterprise Server has reached its end of the extended maintenance period.

Studio for InDesign and InCopy / Smart Connection

Enterprise Server 10.5 can be used with the following versions of Studio for InDesign and InCopy, and Smart Connection:

Note: Support for using Smart Connection with a specific version of Enterprise Server is dropped once that version of Smart Connection has reached its end of the extended maintenance period.

Smart Connection version 15 for Adobe 2020	Requires Enterprise Server 10.5.5 or any higher version of Enterprise Server 10.5.
Smart Connection version 14 for Adobe CC 2019	Requires Enterprise Server 10.5.2 or any higher version of Enterprise Server 10.5.
Smart Connection version 13 for Adobe CC 2018	Requires Enterprise Server 10.5.2 or any higher version of Enterprise Server 10.5.
