macOS
Status: Support for Enterprise Server 10.5 on macOS has been deprecated. This also includes support for sips, but does not apply to InDesign Server. For new installations and upgrades we strongly recommend to move to Linux or MS Windows. However, Enterprise Server 10.5 can be used on the versions of macOS that are listed as 'Deprecated' and is fully supported on those versions.
Note: The MAMP package can be used for development and demo environments but it is not suitable for production purposes. See www.mamp.info.

Assets Server / Elvis Server
Note: This information only applies to the compatibility between Assets/Elvis and Enterprise as a whole. Any plug-ins for Enterprise Server are not guaranteed to be backwards compatible for Enterprise versions that they are not released with.
Enterprise Server 10.5 can be used with the following versions of Assets Server and Elvis Server:

Databases
Note: When the database and the Application Server run on different machines, Enterprise does not add extra restrictions to the operating system that runs the database. When both are running in the same box the choice of the operating system is limited, as specified for the Application Server.
Microsoft SQL
Note: To connect to Microsoft SQL Server, the Application Server must run on a Windows Server as well. This is because the database driver for Microsoft SQL Server is not maintained for macOS and Linux.
