Using Studio Server, content can be published to print or in a digital format. By default, this is done by setting up Publication Channels which define if the publication (a layout or article) should be published to print or digital output.
This article gives a short overview of the settings for each of the Publication Channel types, for quick reference:
- Web
- Other
For more information about Publication Channels, see Publishing content using Publication Channels in Studio Server.
- Name. Name of the Publication Channel, such as 'Print'. This name is displayed to the users as part of the properties of a file that is stored in Studio Server.
- Description. Description of the Publication Channel. For internal use in Studio Server only. Use it as a reference to indicate what the Publication Channel is about to distinguish it from other Publication Channels in the system.
- Publication Channel Type. Should be set to Print.
- Publish System. Should be set to Studio. This is the default setting; it technically is not a publishing system, publishing is done by the creation of a PDF which is then used for printing.
