Info: This feature requires Studio 11.185 or higher running in WoodWing Cloud.
Working on a publication is team work. In a typical workflow therefore, a file will go through many changes before it can be published.
To discuss or communicate these changes, comments can be added to any file in Studio. When the assistance or attention of a user is needed, this user can be tagged in a comment.
All comments in which you have been tagged can be viewed and managed in a central location: the Comments feed of the Activity hub.
How to work on these comments in the Comments feed is explained in this article.

Accessing the Activity hub
The Comments feed is part of the Activity hub. The Activity hub can be accessed by clicking its icon in the top right corner of the page, next to the Inbox. A badge is shown when any comments exist which are marked as unread.

Managing comments in which you have been tagged
Comments in which you have been tagged are shown in the Comments feed tab of the Activity hub.
The actions that you can perform are explained below.
Accessing the file to which the comment has been added
A typical reason for being tagged in a comment is because you are asked to work on the file to which the comment has been added.
You can quickly navigate to the file by doing one of the following:
- In the Comments feed tab:
- Click on the file name icon above the comment.
- Access the menu for the comment (the three dots) and choose 'Go to file' in the menu that appears.
- When viewing the thread of the comment:
- Click on the file name icon.
The file is shown in the search results and the Activity hub is closed. When the file is a Dossier or a Task, it is automatically opened.
Tip: To return to your previous search results, click the Back button of your browser.
Viewing the comment thread
To see the full comment and all its replies, do one of the following:
- In the Comments feed tab:
- Click the 'View thread' icon (the arrow pointing to the right).
- Access the menu for the comment (the three dots) and choose 'View thread' in the menu that appears.
Marking a comment as read or unread
Comments in which you have been tagged initially appear as unread. This indicates that it requires some action from your part. The number of unread comments is shown as a badge over the Activity hub icon at the top of the page.
Mark an unread comment as read when it does not require any further action from your side, or mark a read comment as unread as a reminder that you still need to follow up on it.
To change the status from read to unread or the other way round, do the following:
- In the Comments feed, access the menu for the comment (the three dots) and choose 'Mark as read' or 'Mark as unread' in the menu that appears.
To change the status to 'read' for all comments, do the following:
- At the bottom of the Comments feed panel, click Mark all as read.
Showing only unread comments
A comment that is marked as read still appears in the Comments feed (for example in case you want to mark it as unread at some point).
To see only those comments that are marked as unread, click the 'Only show unread' toggle in the bottom right corner of the Comments feed panel. Click it again to show all comments.
Resolving comments and making them active again
When a comment needs no further action (from either yourself or anyone else), it can be set to the Resolved status.
To resolve an active comment, or to make a resolved comment active again, click its Resolve icon.
When a comment is resolved, its Resolve icon is green and the background is colored light gray.
When a comment is set to resolved, it cannot be replied to anymore. To add a new reply, the comment first needs to be made active again (by clicking the green Resolved icon).
Editing and deleting replies
Any reply that you added to a comment can be edited or deleted.
Note: This is only possible when a comment is not set to 'resolved'. To edit or delete a reply to a resolved comment, make the comment active first by clicking the green Resolve icon.
To edit or delete one of your comments or replies, view the thread of the comment, click the Edit or Delete icon, and follow the steps.
Replying to a comment
To reply to a comment, view the thread of a comment and add your reply in the 'Add a new reply' field. The same rules and options exist as for adding a comment in the Comments panel.
