Notifications in Xtendis inform you when something needs your attention such as a download process that you started and which is now ready to be completed, when someone has mentioned you in a note, when your personal index folder contains documents for indexing, and so on.
Notifications are shown on the left side of the Dashboard above your avatar, or as a bell icon when the Dashboard is collapsed as a toolbar.
Clicking the notification will take you to the next step in the process such as downloading the documents, opening the note in which you are mentioned, opening the Personal index folder, and so on.
Notifications are therefore a handy way for quickly processing the tasks that you are involved in.
This article describes how to work with notifications.
Clicking notifications
Clicking a notification takes you to the next step in the process. Which step this is, depends on the process.
The following table shows some examples:
When you are notified that... | Clicking the notification will... |
---|---|
Documents are ready to be downloaded... | Ask you were the documents should be downloaded to on your system. |
documents exist in your personal index folder... | Open the folder. |
You are mentioned in a note... | Open the note in the document. |
Deleting notifications
Notifications are displayed until their related task (such as downloading documents) is finished or the condition (such as having documents in your personal index folder) does not exist anymore.
When for some reason you do not want to see the notifications anymore, they can all be deleted in one action.
Notes:
|
Step 1. Hover the mouse pointer over the notification header.
A trash can icon appears.
Step 2. Click the trash can icon.
All notifications are deleted.
