Publishing to Pugpig is one of the ways in which a Digital article can be published from Studio.
This article explains how this is done.
Note: Publishing to Pugpig requires that the system is set up correctly. It is assumed here that this is done.
Step 1. Create a Digital article as described in Working with Digital articles in Studio and add the required content.
Tip: A dedicated Component Set containing a variety of optimizations in digital publishing is available through WoodWing Digital Services. This set is created, maintained and sold by WoodWing. To obtain this set, contact your WoodWing sales representative. They can help put you in contact with the WoodWing Digital Publishing team.
Step 2. Make sure that the correct style is applied:
- In the toolbar on the right, click Look and Feel to open the Look and Feel options.
- Choose a style from the list of available styles.
The changes are applied immediately.
Step 3. Access the properties of the article and make sure that the metadata properties that are required for Pugpig are set. These can include the following:
|Name||Page Title (when the Headline field is not used)|
|Used In (Issue > Name)||Edition > Title|
|Headline||Page Title (if empty, the Name field is used)|
|On Sale Date||Issued|
Defines if the article is provided free or paid.
This setting is overridden by the subscription server.
|Page Number||Sort Order|
|Article Role||Defines if the article is displayed as Edit or Advert. A blank space equals Edit, and is generally selected by default.|
|Hide from TOC||Hides the article from displaying in the Table of Contents. Field name is 'Hidden'. Requires a value of '1' to be sent as 'hide from TOC'.|
Sets the article as the cover. Requires a value of '1' to be sent as the cover.
Default value: 0.
|Pugpig Status||Defines if the article should appear in the preview App or is ready for 'live production'. If On Sale date and Status are both met, the issue will go live.|
|Issue ID||Feeds into the Brands subscription server.|
Step 4. Publish the article. The process to follow depends on the version of Studio used (see how to check the version that is installed):
Studio 11.123 and higher
Do one of the following:
- Select a Digital article or a group of files containing Digital articles, right-click any of the files and choose Publish from the context menu.
- Open an article in the Digital editor and click Publish in the top right corner.
In the dialog that appears, select the channels to which the articles should be published and click Publish.
Studio 11.122 and lower
Open an article in the Digital editor and in the top right corner, click Publish.
In the dialog that appears, choose Pugpig as the target to publish to, and the channel to which the article should be published.
Click Publish to publish the article.
