Fixed issues
The following issues have been fixed in this release of Assets:
LVS-18093 Incorrect number of selected files are shown in a Shared Link.
LVS-18297 A copied Collection is not pinned if it contains any files.
LVS-18312 Filmstrip view is not shown correctly after deleting files from the Fullscreen preview.
LVS-18397 Preview of GIF files is not showing after making changes in metadata fields.
LVS-18411 Moving (nested) Collections containing a large number of files is not always updating all parentContainer fields and creating ghost images.
Known issues
The following known issues exist in this release of Assets:
- Localization API does not return default messages used in the client. The localization API does not return default messages from the client. However, it still returns field labels and custom messages. If your customization relies on a message key from Assets, add the key and expected value as a custom message.
- Copying components from archived Digital articles does not work with specific Web browsers. Copying an article component from an archived Digital article using Studio only works when using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, it does not work with Apple Safari or Microsoft Edge.
- Previewing PDFs does not work in Google Chrome version 88. Assets runs its previews in a sandbox to prevent malicious code from being run in the Web browser. With Chrome 88, Google no longer allows PDFs to be shown in a sandbox environment and blocks the request to the server.
One way to make the PDF preview work again is to disable Assets’ sandbox mechanism. We do not recommend this though as it poses a security risk. Another way is to use a different Web browser. The preferred way is to install a Chrome extension that allows to safely preview a PDF.
- Renaming a file requires both Edit Metadata and Rename permissions instead of only Rename permissions.
- 'Search' is shown in the Web browser tab title of the Shared Links page instead of the subject.

New features
No features have been added in this release of Assets.
Changes
The following changes have been made in this release of Assets:
- The feature to let users keep or replace metadata when a file is checked in or replaced can now be disabled. Assets Server 6.107 introduced a feature where users who check in or replace a file are by default offered the choice to replace the metadata values of the original file by the metadata values of the checked-in file, or to keep the original metadata. This feature can now be disabled when users should not be offered these choices. This is done by setting the following option on the Cluster properties page in Assets Server to false:
- enableCheckInKeepMetadata=false
With this configuration, the metadata values of the original file are replaced by the metadata values of the checked-in file; users are not offered the choice to replace or keep the metadata (identical to the functionality in Assets Server 6.106 and lower).

- The process of moving or copying folders can now be canceled by the system administrator. In previous versions, the affected node had to be stopped, which resulted in a disruption in production.

New features
No features have been added in this release of Assets.
Changes
The following changes have been made in this release of Assets:
- When checking in or replacing a file, options are now available to keep or replace metadata values of the original file. In previous versions of Assets, when a file was replaced or checked-in (either with the edited version of the checked-out file or by a completely different file), the metadata values of the original file were always replaced by the metadata values of the file that was checked in.
In certain scenarios though, it could be necessary to keep the values of the original file but replace the values of specific fields (such as the copyright information of the file that is checked in).
The following has therefore been implemented:
When a user chooses the Check in option or the Replace option, the following sub-options now appear:
- Replace metadata. This replaces all metadata values of the original file with the metadata values of the file that is checked in (with the exception of metadata that describes file properties such as file size; this is never replaced). This is the same behavior as in previous versions.
- Keep original metadata. The metadata values of the original file are not replaced with the metadata values of the file that is checked in, unless this is specifically defined in the configuration of Assets Server. This configuration is done by setting the 'keepOnCheckIn' option for that metadata field to 'false' in the custom-assetinfo.xml file. For more information, see Controlling metadata values when checking in or replacing a file in Assets Server.
Fixed issues

LVS-17566 'Sort by Relevance' is not cleared when Relevance is removed from proClientSortFields and the search term is cleared.
LVS-17592 Add support for checking in or replacing a file without replacing the metadata of the original file.
LVS-17854 When updating metadata of a PSD file, the metadata is not embedded into the file itself.
LVS-17867 Collections are not highlighted in the Folder browser for another user or in another browser tab when dragging files over them.
LVS-17872 The Zoom level changes when the sorting values in a Shared link or Upload request are changed.
LVS-17887 In the Filter panel, the dates in the 'From' and 'Until' fields in the Date Range are formatted differently.

Changes
The following changes have been made in this release of Assets:
- The colors for the Status option in the Filter have been removed. In previous versions, when filtering files on Status, the Status color for the file was shown (see image below). These colors were hard-coded and would conflict when different colors were used in custom flags shown in the thumbnail for that file, thereby creating confusion. To simplify the Status filter, these colors have now been removed.
- An option has been added to improve the loading speed of directories containing large text-based files. Opening a folder in the Folder browser can take a long time when that directory contains large text-based files. For each of these files, the textContent metadata field which contains the full text of the file is returned in the server response. For files with a large amount of text, this can increase the time to show the content of the folder.
To reduce the loading time, the textContent metadata field can be omitted by setting the following option to false:
- returnTextContentFieldInMetadata
This can be done on the Cluster properties page in the Management Console.

Assets 6.100
Assets version: 6.100.1.442
Assets Agent version: 1.0.35.60
Release date: 18 July 2023
New features
The following features have been added in this release of Assets:
- Linking the upload buttons to an external upload client when a different upload logic is needed than the default upload logic. One of the ways of uploading files is by uploading them to a folder using the Upload files button. Users are then presented with an upload screen through which files are uploaded based on a default business logic.
When a specific logic is needed for uploading files — such as requiring metadata based upon specific criteria (file type, location, or other metadata values), or a logic based on specific metadata value validation — the Upload button and the Upload and link button can now be redirected to an external upload client that offers that logic.
It is the responsibility of the integrator to implement and host such an upload client; a sample is not provided by WoodWing.
The following options have been added to configure the behavior:
- customUploadURL. The URL to the external upload client.
- customUploadTarget. The target in which to open the URL set in the customUploadURL option. The default value is to open the page in a new browser tab.
When this feature is configured, the following change in behavior occurs:
- When the Upload files button or the Upload and link button is clicked or the keyboard shortcut for it is pressed, users are directed to the external upload client. The default upload screen is bypassed.
- Uploading files using drag-and-drop or using the Browse button is disabled.
For details, see Adding a custom upload workflow to Assets .

Release date: 25 April 2023
New features
No features have been added in this release of Assets.
Changes
The following changes have been made in this release of Assets:
- Column headers in a Metadata report now use the field name instead of the technical name. When creating a Metadata report by using Assets, the field name is now used as the column header instead of the technical name. This makes the column headers more readable.
Example: 'Directory' instead of 'folderPath', 'File name' instead of 'filename', and so on.
Note: This change only applies to generating the report by using Assets; the report generated by using the API still uses the technical name as the column header.
- URLs added to a multi-value field are now detected and displayed below the field as hyperlinks. In Assets 6.93, a feature was introduced in which URLs that were added to a multi-line field (such as a Description field) were detected and displayed below the field as hyperlinks. This feature now also works when adding a URL to a multi-value field such as the Tags field.
Fixed issues
The following issues have been fixed in this release of Assets:
LVS-17170 When selecting a file in the Edited files section on the Checked-out files page, files in the unedited section are also selected.

Changes
The following changes have been made in this release of Assets:
- URLs in the Metadata panel now appear as hyperlinks. Metadata fields that provide context or important information such as a description, source, or copyright information, often include a URL. Because these URLs are not clickable, it can be cumbersome to access this information. To improve this, URLs that are part of a metadata field of type multi-line in the Metadata panel are now detected and displayed below the field as hyperlinks.
Clicking a hyperlink opens it in a new browser tab. Changing a displayed hyperlink is done by editing the URL in the field. URLs need to have a protocol (HTTP or HTTPS) followed by '://' to be detected.
Note: Only the syntax of the URL is checked, not if it links to an existing web address.
- Localization: French translations of 'uploading' have been changed to 'envoyer'. To better match the real-world use of the French translation of 'uploading', all references (such as 'télécharger') have been changed to 'envoyer'.

LVS-17169 After previewing multiple files using the Debug Info Dialog plug-in and closing the preview, the number of files that were previewed is incorrectly shown in the status bar as the number of selected files.
LVS-17206 Issue in selecting 'Plugin Logs' checkbox in Support Tools.
LVS-17215 Change the French translation of 'uploading' to 'envoyer'.
LVS-17229 Uploading files: High degradation in performance when typing in the Tags field of the Upload screen.
