Changes
The following changes have been made in this release of Assets:
- Users whose accounts are managed directly in Assets Server can now manage some of their account details directly from within Assets. To make the process of changing account details more user friendly and efficient for internal users (those that are not managed in the organization's identity system, such as when logging in using Single Sign-On (SSO) or LDAP), an 'Account settings' dialog has been added in which users can now make these changes themselves. In previous versions, only passwords could be managed which had to be done through the Management Console in Assets Server.
The dialog is accessed by clicking the Avatar icon and from the menu that appears, choosing Account settings.
Using the dialog, users can change their full user name and/or their password.
For details, see Changing your account settings in Assets 6.
Fixed issues
The following issues have been fixed in this release of Assets:
LVS-18377 After renaming a Collection, sometimes the suffix .collection is shown.
LVS-18833 The Share button remains enabled when a notification date in the past is entered.
LVS-19411 Unexpected 'You are about to move folder' notifications are shown when navigating folders.
LVS-19613 The Image view count increments incorrectly after renaming an asset.
Known issues
The following known issues exist in this release of Assets:
- Localization API does not return default messages used in the client. The localization API does not return default messages from the client. However, it still returns field labels and custom messages. If your customization relies on a message key from Assets, add the key and expected value as a custom message.
- Copying components from archived Digital articles does not work with specific Web browsers. Copying an article component from an archived Digital article using Studio only works when using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, it does not work with Apple Safari or Microsoft Edge.
- Previewing PDFs does not work in Google Chrome version 88. Assets runs its previews in a sandbox to prevent malicious code from being run in the Web browser. With Chrome 88, Google no longer allows PDFs to be shown in a sandbox environment and blocks the request to the server.
One way to make the PDF preview work again is to disable Assets’ sandbox mechanism. We do not recommend this though as it poses a security risk. Another way is to use a different Web browser. The preferred way is to install a Chrome extension that allows to safely preview a PDF.
- Renaming a file requires both Edit Metadata and Rename permissions instead of only Rename permissions.
- 'Search' is shown in the Web browser tab title of the Shared Links page instead of the subject.

Changes
The following changes have been made in this release of Assets:
- Notifications can now be turned off globally for all users. Whenever a change occurs such as a process that is completed or the content of a folder that has been changed by another user, a notification is shown in the lower left corner of Assets to inform the user about this. Some notifications automatically disappear after a short time, while others need to be manually closed.
When many notifications appear in quick succession for long periods of time, users may find this disruptive. A new configuration option named 'proClientNotificationsEnabled' has therefore now been added to the cluster properties file of Assets Server.
By default it is set to true (current behavior: all notifications are shown), and it can be set to false when all notifications should be disabled.

Changes
