Enabling Broadcasting in Studio – Home

Info: Performing the steps described in this article requires direct server access. Depending upon how your system is hosted and the level of access you have to that system, coordination may be required with your Partner or WoodWing Support team. Broadcasting is part of the messages and events feature of Studio and is an alternative to the multicasting feature.

Notes:

For segmented networks (with multiple subnets), use multicast messaging instead of broadcast messaging.

Support for broadcasting or multicasting is not available in Studio for InDesign and InCopy 16.0.0 for Adobe 2021 or higher; use RabbitMQ instead.

Step 1. Enable the Broadcast feature by adding the following option to the list of Server Features:

File: configserver.php file (recommended: config_overrule.php file)
Name of option: Broadcasting
Location: SERVERFEATURES list
Example:

new Feature( 'Broadcasting' ),

Step 2. Remove the MulticastGroup option, otherwise Studio will perform multicasting.
