The WWSettings.xml file is used for storing various configuration settings for Studio for InDesign and InCopy and Studio. Each system on which Studio for InDesign and InCopy or Studio is run will have a WWSettings.xml file installed (see also Configuring Studio for InDesign and InCopy).
Validating the file
Configuring the file can be done in any (XML) editor such as TextWrangler or Notepad++, but it is important to verify if the XML code is valid when changes have been made. Especially when URLs are configured, the risk of adding invalid characters is quite high.
Some ways of validating the file include:
- Using www.xmlvalidation.com
- Opening the file in a Firefox Web browser
Note: Other browsers such as Safari and Chrome may not accept the WWSettings.xml file due to name spaces.
