Dear customers and partners,
In March 2025 we announced the end of life of Smart Mover. That date, 27 March 2027, has not changed. We also announced the end of support per 27 March 2026. What we are offering is a way to keep Smart Mover running while you move to a replacement: the Smart Mover Transition Support Plan (“STSP”). Support for Smart Mover already ended on 27 March 2026, so STSP also sets out clearly what we can and cannot do in the period we are in now.
From 27 March 2027 until 31 March 2029[1], every existing Smart Mover customer can continue under STSP. It gives you the continued right to use Smart Mover and help from our support team on a commercially reasonable effort basis, without providing the guarantees of a regular support agreement. STSP is a bridge to a replacement. It is not a continuation of the product.
You do not need to do anything to get STSP. On 27 March 2027, your Smart Mover agreement continues as STSP on the terms set out on this page, unless you tell us in writing at least one month before that date, so by 27 February 2027 at the latest, that you do not want STSP. If you do so, your agreement ends on 27 March 2027 at no cost, and we refund any fees you have prepaid for the period after that date. How the change works depends on what you have today. If you have a Smart Mover maintenance agreement on a purchased license, your maintenance converts to the Transition Support Plan and you keep your license. If you have a Smart Mover subscription, your subscription converts to STSP, which carries both your right to continue using Smart Mover and the support described below.

STSP terms
- WoodWing will use commercially reasonable efforts to help. That means we will do what we reasonably can with the resources available to us. It does not commit WoodWing to develop a fix, to keep skills or environments available for Smart Mover, or to take any step that is not commercially reasonable. We therefore cannot guarantee that every issue can be solved.Configuration help is available for installations running on Linux only.
- WoodWing no longer maintains an in-house Smart Mover test environment. We may not be able to reproduce the issue you are seeing.
- Support covers existing installations running the latest released version of Smart Mover. If you run an older version, we may ask you to update to the last released version before we can help.
- STSP follows your existing agreement and renewal date, so in most cases it is billed exactly as it is today. What changes is that you can cancel STSP in writing with effect from the end of any calendar month. Where you have prepaid for months after the cancellation date, we credit that amount to your account, or refund it if you have no further agreement with WoodWing. If WoodWing has to end STSP before 31 March 2029, we give you at least two months’ written notice and refund any fees prepaid for the period after the end date.
- If you cancel STSP, you cannot rejoin later without paying for the months in between.
- Configuration help beyond the included 4 hours per contract year is charged by the hour at our standard rate.
Your rate does not change when you move to STSP. We also do not apply annual indexation or any other agreed price adjustment during the STSP period. The point of STSP is to give you room to move, not to charge you for the time that takes.
If you sign a plan with WoodWing to replace Smart Mover, we credit your STSP fee against that project for up to 12 months.
If you run Smart Mover on macOS
Smart Mover depends on macOS behavior that Apple has deprecated. As a result, future macOS updates may cause Smart Mover to stop functioning. WoodWing cannot guarantee continued compatibility with macOS and does not undertake to restore functionality affected by such changes. WoodWing accepts no liability for loss of functionality resulting from changes to macOS. Under STSP, configuration assistance is available exclusively for Smart Mover installations running on Linux, subject to the STSP limitations outlined above. For macOS installations, STSP is limited to continued usage rights (subject to applicable licence terms), access to documentation and migration guidance. Configuration assistance, compatibility fixes and other technical support are expressly excluded. If you run Smart Mover on macOS, we recommend moving it to Linux or bringing your migration forward.
Replacing Smart Mover
Smart Mover is used for many different things, from simple file moves to complex integrations, so there is no single replacement. What fits depends on where your WoodWing system runs.
| Where you run WoodWing | Replacement options |
| WoodWing Cloud | WoodWing Connect, or a small purpose-built service for simpler flows. We treat each Smart Mover flow like any other integration: we map what it does, design the replacement, and build it with you. |
| Self-hosted or on-premises | WoodWing Connect, or workflow tools such as n8n or Enfocus Switch, built and, where needed, hosted by a WoodWing partner. Which one fits depends on how your environment is set up, so talk it through with your account manager or partner. |
Replacing Smart Mover is a one-time project, and the ongoing cost will be higher than what you pay today. Smart Mover was an unusually capable tool for its price, which is exactly why this is a real change. It also carries limitations and risks that have grown over the years. What you get back is automation built on a modern platform: easier to change when your workflow changes, easier to connect to the rest of your systems, and built to the security standards expected today. Starting early gives you time to plan both.
What you can do now
- Write a short description of what your Smart Mover flows do: what starts them, which systems they connect, and what they move or change. A plain description is more useful to us than the Smart Mover configuration file.
- Share it with your account manager or WoodWing partner, so we can propose a replacement for each flow.
- If you run Smart Mover on macOS, plan a move to Linux or bring your migration forward.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to sign up for STSP?
No. Your agreement moves to STSP automatically on 27 March 2027. If you do not want STSP, let your account manager know.
Does the price change?
No. STSP costs the same as you pay today, and we do not apply indexation during the STSP period. If you sign a plan with WoodWing to replace Smart Mover, we credit your STSP fee against that project for up to 12 months.
Can I still buy Smart Mover or add new flows?
No. STSP covers existing installations only. We do not sell Smart Mover to new customers and do not support new installations or new or expanded flows.
Will WoodWing fix bugs in Smart Mover?
No. We will help you find a workaround where we can, but we no longer change Smart Mover itself.
Why can WoodWing not keep supporting Smart Mover?
Smart Mover was developed outside of WoodWing, on a technology we do not use anywhere else in our portfolio. Keeping it alive would take resources we would rather invest in the platform our customers build on, and parts of it rely on platform behavior that is being retired. It also no longer fits the security and risk standards we hold ourselves to going forward. WoodWing Connect is where that investment goes instead.
What happens after 31 March 2029?
STSP ends and WoodWing no longer provides any support for Smart Mover. Make sure your flows have moved to a replacement before then. If you purchased a Smart Mover license, you keep that license under its existing terms and may continue to run the software unsupported, entirely at your own risk; WoodWing shall not provide support, fixes or compatibility after that date. If you have a subscription, your right to use Smart Mover ends on 31 March 2029 and you must stop using it from that date. If your agreement runs beyond that date, we will contact you individually before then.
