Every asset returned by the Assets Server API has a field indicating the permissions of the current user for that asset. The permissions mask consists of a string with one character for every permission available in Assets Server.
Objects and files
The following applies to permissions for all objects in Assets Server 6.62 and lower, and to permissions for files in Assets Server 6.63 and higher.

- P = VIEW_PREVIEW
- W = VIEW_NON_WATERMARKED (hide watermarks) 1
- U = USE_ORIGINAL
- M = EDIT_METADATA
- E = EDIT
- R = RENAME
- X = MOVE

- D = DELETE

When a permission is not available, its position in the string will be replaced with a dash:

- V = VIEW
- P = VIEW_PREVIEW

Derived permissions:
- G = Create nested Collection, assigned when it is possible to create nested Collections (Collection rule with EDIT + CREATE)

- T = Move file to, a File Rule has Move assigned to this folder or one of its parents
- G = Create collection, a Collection Rule has CREATE assigned to this folder or one of its parents
- Q = Move collection to, a Collection Rule has Move assigned to this folder or one of its parents
