Configuring the maximum number of found files that are displayed at a time in Studio Server – Help Center

When a search is performed in Studio or Studio for InDesign and InCopy, a very large number of files can potentially be found.

In order not to negatively impact performance, a maximum of 50 files at a time are displayed by default. Users can use the navigation tools to see the next or previous group of 50 files. This controlled by the DBMAXQUERY option.

To change this maximum number, perform the following steps:

Step 1. Open the configserver.php file (recommended: config_overrule.php file) on Studio Server.

Step 2. Locate the setting DBMAXQUERY.

define ('DBMAXQUERY', 50);

Step 3. Set the value of the setting to the desired number.

Note:

Entering “0” (zero) displays all found files in one long list. Because this can have a negative impact on performance and affects other features that make use of this option, using a value of zero is not recommended.

The DBMAXQUERY option is also used for controlling other features, such as the number of files that are added to a Book when running the OpenIssueAsBook.jsx script, and displaying the total number of jobs on the InDesign Server Jobs Maintenance page. Changing the DBMAXQUERY setting therefore affects these features as well.
