The WoodWing Identity Service is a system in which administrators manage users and user groups in a central location and give these users access to one or more WoodWing applications or instances of it within the organization.
As a regular end user of these applications or instances, this means that you can log in to them using the credentials for only one account: the one that is set up in the WoodWing Identity Service.
Note: The WoodWing Identity Service is currently only available for Assets 10.
This article explains how to use the WoodWing Identity Service as a regular user.
Accessing the WoodWing Identity Service
As a regular user, you will receive an invitation by e-mail from your system administrator to join the WoodWing Cloud environment.
When your account is not managed through an external identity provider, you will be prompted to set up a password.
After activating your account, you will be directed to your profile page in the WoodWing Identity Service.
Using the Profile page
The Profile page provides an overview of your account information for that organization.
The following information and options are shown:
- In the Avatar section:
- Your display name. This is the name that is shown to other users of the system, including system administrators when they are managing your access within the system.
- The name of the organization that you are logged in to.
- Owner. This is only shown when you are part of a group that has the role of 'owner' assigned. Users within such groups can fully manage the WoodWing Identity Service environment.
- Sign out. Use this option to sign out of the WoodWing Identity Service environment (and thereby out of all WoodWing applications in which you are signed in).
- In the Account information section:
- Your display name. This is the name that is shown to system administrators when they are managing your access within the system. Click 'Edit profile' to change it.
- Your e-mail address. This cannot be changed.
- Click Change password to change your current password.
- In the Available tenants section:
- All tenants (instances of WoodWing applications) that you have been given access to within the organization are shown here. Click a link to access it. Logging in will not be necessary because you are already logged in to the WoodWing Identity Service.
Logging out
To log out of the application that you have accessed, use the 'Sign out' option on the Profile page of the WoodWing Identity Service. This will log you out of the WoodWing Identity Service altogether (and therefore out of all WoodWing applications in which you are signed in).
Note: There is no option to log out in the application itself.
Accessing a WoodWing application directly
Once you have set up your WoodWing Identity Service account and have accessed an application such as Assets 10, you might have saved the link to that application as a bookmark.
When you are logged out of the WoodWing Identity Service and you are directly accessing the link to the application, the Sign in page for the WoodWing Identity Service appears. Log in using your WoodWing Identity Service account to access the application.
