With this product announcement we would like to inform you that the treatment of non-breaking spaces in PSV output will be changed.
What functionality is added?
In our current export of PSV, all non-breaking spaces (html entity ) are replaced with regular space characters in the output. The non-breaking spaces are replaced with spaces because XML does not support the entity and replacing it with a regular space was the simplest solution at the time.
To create a more accurate export of the content, we have added support for non-breaking spaces by doing the following:
- Present day; all
' 'entities are replaced with' ' - New enhanced functionality; all
' 'entities are replaced with'
'Unicode character references
This change will impact all customers exporting to PSV format.
When will this be applied?
This depends on how the publish action is performed:
- For bulk publish actions (publishing one or multiple articles at once from the Studio list view): at 2024-02-08, for all Studio versions that support bulk publish. This is not influenced by installing a new Studio version as the rendering of the PSV file is performed by an update to a WoodWing Cloud service.
- For publish actions inside the digital editor: When upgrading to the upcoming Studio 11.162 release.
How to convert to the old functionality?
Any customer that does not like the non-breaking spaces in the XML, can do a transformation to get rid of the non-breaking spaces. This would require a script to change back the '
' to ' '. This does require clean-up on the customer's end.
