Cleaning up temp files in Enterprise

Cleaning up temp files in Enterprise

Enterprise Server regularly stores files in temporary locations. As a maintenance task, it can sometimes be preferable to clear up some of these locations from unwanted files.

The overview below lists the different locations where temporary files are stored and how they can be safely cleaned up.

System temp folder

On each physical system, Enterprise Server uses the system temp folder for storing files by using one of the following prefixes:

  • ent
  • sips-
  • req
  • WW_SOAP_Client_response_

Notes:

  • This folder may contain other files that were not created by Enterprise Server.
  • Finding a high number of files containing one of the prefixes listed above could indicate a defect. If so, please contact WoodWing Support.
  • To make 100% sure that you are looking at the correct folder, please run the following module, which simply displays the full path of the folder: showsystempdir.php.zip.

What to remove: Any of these files that are older than 3 days can be safely removed.
