    Hi Scott,

    When configuring a taxonomy list for a metadata field you can add sort="true" to have it present the values inside the Elvis Pro web client in a sorted manner.

    Example:

    <fieldExt name="tags">
     <data>
      <taxonomy source="keyword-list.txt" ancestorsSelectable="false" ancestorsSearchable="true" onlyFromList="false" sort="true"/>
     </data>
    </fieldExt>

    Hi Erik,

    Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, I am already aware of the sort feature for the list. What I am looking for is a way to sort the lists within the taxonomy pulldown. This is how our current taxonomy list looks.

    WA Artist Name
    cf_vt_style
    cf_PrintRoyaltyCode
    cd_vt_content
    Subject code
    cf_WAG_Release
    cf_LicensingRoyaltyCode
    Web Subject Codes

    So it turns out the old order wasn't alphabetical either. But it just happened to be in a more functional order than it is now so users noticed the change.

    Thanks,

    Scott

    Hi Scott,

    The order for custom metadata fields is defined by the order they are configured. Note: The translation messages for the field labels do not change the order.

    • Can you verify the order of these metadata fields as it was in Elvis 4 compared to your custom-assetinfo.xml configured order?
    • Is the default metadata fields (subjectCode) grouped together with the other custom metadata fields

    Try: To set the order of custom metadata fields you can try re-arranging the order of the configured custom(cf_ ) metadata fields inside the custom-assetInfo.xml and restart your cluster.
    Note: Be very careful because a typo may prevent your cluster from properly starting. Monitor the startup log for messages.
    Note: This may work only for custom metadata fields and is limited by group configuration order as well.

    FYI: We already have a feature request to allow re-arranging of metadata fields and metadata field groups inside the Elvis Pro web client.

    Looking at the Elvis 4 list, these fields...

    cf_LicensingRoyaltyCode

    cf_PrintRoyaltyCode

    ...are next to each other in the file. They also appear next to each other in the taxonomy list.

    In Elvis 5, they are also next to each other in the file, but not in the list.

    So it appears Elvis 5 is determining its order in a different way.

    Which metadata fields are in between those 2 custom metadata fields?

    Hi Scott,

    I have created a support ticket from your online post because the Tips&Tricks forum is not really the right place and I have some issues with the replies I get from you.
