    Hello Bruce,

Linking to image in the checkouts folder is not the way to go, as the checkout folder is emptied when the images are checked in. The way we designed how to place Elvis assets on a layout works is described in our documentation: https://helpcenter.woodwing.com/hc/en-us/articles/208815166

Also we have a small video showing it on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5Jlkk-1wVA

We trust that you are able to provide your customer a solid workflow with the help of these tips.

    Hi Raoul,

Thanks for your reply. I need to clarify what's being done.

I"m not linking to images in the checkout folder. Links between the layout and the placed images are established by Elvis during layout checkout after uploading the layout and linked images. This is done via the “Do you want to relink the links to XXX to this file in Elvis” prompt that appears when checking out the layout for the first time using the "Open in InDesign" menu option in the Pro client.

After this is done, the images that were previously linked locally now link to Elvis. This is ideal, as Becker has dozens of images on each layout, and having to relink each of those manually would be extremely time-consuming.

I was aware of your documentation. I'm looking for a way to allow Becker to avoid having to manually relink each asset for the hundreds of legacy layouts they eventually want to manage. It appears that Elvis provides for this functionality via the above-mentioned prompt, and that this batch relinking works, expect that the placed images aren't updated correctly on the layout.

Is this functionality not built into Elvis, and am I misinterpreting the purpose of the relink prompt? If so, is there a way to batch relink images managed in Elvis to avoid having to  manually relink each asset?

    Thanks,

    Bruce
