This fixes the issue where the About WoodWing dialog in InDesign and InCopy (which gives access to the seat based activation of the products) did not appear because of an issue with the installation certificate for the Adobe extension (as provided in the WoodWingUI ZXP file).
Important: Before installing this new version of Smart Connection, first remove the outdated WoodWingUI ZXP file by uninstalling Smart Connection.

The following new feature has been introduced in this release of Smart Connection:
- Support for Single Sign-on (SSO) using Okta. Single sign-on is a process in which users log in once to an authentication provider that manages their user credentials.
Once logged in to that authentication provider, each subsequent log-in to an application that is connected to that provider is automatically handled by that system. This drastically reduces the number of times that users have to manually log in on a daily basis.
Implementing single sign-on is done in Enterprise Server 10.7.0 and higher and is supported in Smart Connection 13.1.0.

- Installer on MacOS: With the fix for 'EN-91810 Permissions of the InDesign application folder are changed by the Smart Connection CC 2018 plug-in package on MacOS' a side effect is introduced when uninstalling Smart Connection using the 'Uninstall Smart Connection for Adobe CC 2018.app' on MacOS systems. Although all Smart Connection plug-ins are uninstalled and removed, some files and folders remain in the InDesign application folder such as an empty Plug-ins/WoodWing folder and the 'WoodWingUI ZXP' folder. These folders and files are harmless for the InDesign application and do not affect new installations of Smart Connection on MacOS.

EN-91248 InDesign often crashes during launch after installing Smart Connection or replacing Smart Connection plug-ins.
Details: After installing the Smart Connection for CC 2018 plug-ins, InDesign often crashes almost immediately after launching it. When relaunching it several times, the application becomes and remains stable. After running the installer again or replacing plug-ins, the problem typically occurs again.
The issue occurs on both MacOS and Windows, but the frequency of crashing on MacOS is higher than on Windows. The crash only happens with InDesign; InCopy and InDesign Server for CC 2018 do not have this problem.
The cause of the problem was found in the resources of the ElementLabelUI plug-in. It turned out that during packaging and creating the installer, one of the resource files got corrupted. This has now been fixed.

Note: Especially the fix for EN-91356 is important for the general use of Smart Connection. In Smart Connection for CC 2018 13.0.0 - 13.0.2 build 20 all images that are placed on the layout were always retrieved from Enterprise Server during a Save Version or Check In action of a layout. However, in some scenarios these images are not always needed (for example when they are only required for generating page previews for use in the Publication Overview). Downloading all images at those moment then results in an unnecessary delay for the user. With the fix for EN-91356, images are only downloaded if it is required to have the native image files available, for instance for the creation of page PDFs or for High Quality display in InDesign. |

New features
The following new features have been introduced in this release of Smart Connection:
- Controlling if placed Enterprise images should be updated when opening a layout. By default, when a layout is opened all placed content is updated to the latest available version. This behavior can now be changed so that placed Enterprise files of a particular type are not updated to their latest available version. Layout designers can then verify each change themselves, manually update each file and make adjustments when needed.
The following types of files are affected by enabling automatic updating:
- Images
- Layout Modules
- Spreadsheets
Configuring this behavior can be done in the following locations:
- In the configserver.php file of Enterprise Server by setting the option 'UpdateImagesOnOpen'.
- In the WWSettings.xml file by setting the option 'UpdateImagesOnOpen'.
- In the InDesign preferences by enabling the option 'Update Placed Enterprise Files When Opening a Layout'.
The working of each setting can be affected by another setting. For example: when the option is set through the WWSettings.xml file, any configuration done in the configserver.php file is overruled and the InDesign preference is disabled.

- Layout icons. When a newer version of a placed Enterprise file is available, an icon in the form of a yellow triangle is now shown in the top left corner of the frame.
Changes
The following change has been made in this release of Smart Connection:
- Updating links manually. The option named 'SkipUpdateLinks' which could be configured in the WWSettings.xml file has been made obsolete in Smart Connection 13.0.2 or any higher version of Smart Connection. It has been replaced by the new way of controlling if placed Enterprise images should be updated when opening a layout (see above).

Changes
The following change has been made in this release of Smart Connection:
- Changes made to Issues in Enterprise Server are now automatically updated in Smart Connection. When Issues are created, modified, deleted, or reordered in Enterprise Server, the user interface in Smart Connection is now dynamically updated. This applies in particular to the Smart Connection panel (the Issues list in Browse mode and the Search Criteria dialog box). In previous versions, the user had to log out and log in again to see these changes.
This improvement requires Enterprise Server 10.4.1 or later. It also requires either broadcasting enabled, or RabbitMQ up and running.
Technical details: The Smart Connection client is notified by the server using messaging, either by broadcast/multicast, or by RabbitMQ push notifications. New events were introduced in Enterprise Server 10.4.1 (CreateIssue, ModifyIssue, DeleteIssue, UpdateIssuesOrder, UpdatePubChannel).
Note: Content Station 11 does not yet support this dynamic update of the mentioned Issue changes. This is planned for an upcoming release. This functionality will not be added to Content Station 9.
- Smart Connection panel: performance improvement. When the Smart Connection panel is used in Hierarchical View mode and the panel is refreshed, Smart Connection now requests Enterprise Server for a flat, non-hierarchical query instead of a query for the full hierarchy as is done in previous versions. As a result, much less data is needed to display the results, thereby increasing the refresh time of the panel. When the user expands Dossiers, layouts or articles, additional queries are performed to show objects deeper in the hierarchy. These additional queries are also relatively small and fast to display. Altogether, the changes in Smart Connection 13.0.1 will lead to a much faster display of query results in Smart Connection.
- Smart Connection panel: opening Dossiers. A Dossier can now also be opened by right-clicking it and choosing Open from the context menu.
- Smart Connection panel: filtering. Filtering the Smart Connection panel can now also be done on the following file types:

New features
The following feature has been introduced in this release of Smart Connection:
- Support for Adobe CC 2018. This version of Smart Connection can be used with InDesign CC 2018, InDesign Server CC 2018, and InCopy CC 2018.
Compatibility
For information about compatibility between Smart Connection and other systems such as Enterprise Server, see Compatibility of Smart Connection 13 for Adobe CC 2018.
Changes
The following change has been made in this release of Smart Connection:
- New default article format (WCML3). Smart Connection 12.2.0 introduced a new version of the format in which articles are stored: 'WCML3'. (For more information, see the Release Notes for Smart Connection 12.2.0). However, the previous article format 'WCML2' was still used as the default article format.
In Smart Connection 13.0.0, the WCML3 article format has been made the default article format.
When needed, the WCML2 format can be set as the default format by enabling the Server Feature: 'WcmlVersion2'.

Known issues
The following known issue exists for this release of Smart Connection:
- Accessing menus. When a file that is placed on a layout is selected and one of the below mentioned menus is accessed, it can take longer than usual for that menu to appear. This is because the selected file is first downloaded in the background before the menu can be displayed. This can be especially noticeable for large files such as PDFs, Photoshop files or Illustrator files. This issue will be fixed in a future version of Smart Connection for Adobe CC 2018. It affects the following menus:
- The sub menus of Edit > Edit With…
- The Links panel menu > Edit With…
- The context menu of a selected file
- The context menu of a selected link in the Links panel
