Operating systems

Note: The following information applies to running Assets Server as a Search node, a Processing node, a Job Runner node, or any combination of these roles.

Linux

Assets Server can be used with the following versions of Linux:

Note: Requires 64bit x86 compatible hardware.

RedHat Linux 8 / CentOS 8

RedHat Linux 7 / CentOS 7

Not all file types are supported when using a Linux (processing) server.
For more information see Supported file types.

CentOS/RHEL 7 use systemd. The Assets Server startup scripts are
LSB-compliant and will therefore also work with systemd.

Windows

Assets Server can be used with the following versions of Windows:

Assets Server can be used with the following versions of Smart Connection and Studio for InDesign (requires Assets for InDesign to be installed in InDesign):

Note: Even though the workflows of using Assets for InDesign and that of using the Smart Connection/Studio plug-ins in InDesign are completely separate, compatible versions are required to have them installed simultaneously within the same instance of InDesign.
