Compatibility of Content Station 9

This article describes the compatibility of Content Station 9 with other systems.

Info: 

  • Content Station 9 reached its end-of-life status on 1 January 2020. This article will not be updated anymore.
  • The recommended version of Content Station 9 to use is version 9.8. This article therefore describes the compatibility of only that version.

Operating systems

Compatibility of Content Station with operating systems only applies to using Content Station 9 AIR because it runs in Adobe AIR.

Note that due to notarization changes that are to be enforced by Apple in
January 2020, WoodWing will be unable to provide further releases for Content
Station 9 on MacOS 10.15 (Catalina) from the moment those changes are
implemented.

The Enterprise Agent application (used for automatically checking-out files in
their native application and for receiving and sending broadcast messages) is a
32bit application and is therefore not compatible with MacOS 10.15 (Catalina).
When using Content Station 9 on MacOS 10.15 (Catalina), this functionality
will therefore not be available.

Adobe AIR

Adobe AIR is needed to run Content Station AIR.

1 (Mac OS X only) On Mac OS X, Content Station 9.8.4 build 273 and higher is not compatible with Adobe AIR 19 and lower.

2 (Mac OS X only) When Adobe Air 20 or higher is installed on Mac OS X, only the following versions can be installed: 

  • Content Station 9.4.7 build 228 or higher
  • Content Station 9.7.0 build 232 or higher

Older versions of Content Station 9 can no longer be installed on Mac OS X in combination with Adobe AIR 20 because support for 32-bit was dropped by Adobe in favor of 64-bit applications.

Elvis

Compatibility of Content Station 9.8 with Elvis.

Note: When it comes to compatibility between Elvis and Content Station, a distinction should be made between the following processes:

  • Integrating Elvis in Content Station.This is done by integrating the Elvis Desktop client. This client is only available in Elvis 4 and Elvis 5.

Since Elvis 6, integrating the Elvis app in Content Station 9 is no longer possible. Customers using Enterprise Server 10.4 (or lower) with Elvis 5 may still use the Elvis app in Content Station 9. When they consider upgrading to Enterprise Server 10.5 (or higher), Content Station 9 is still supported in combination with Enterprise Server, but the Elvis integration requires Elvis 6.18 or higher. When upgrading to Enterprise 10.5 (or higher) therefore, support for the Elvis app is no longer available. As an alternative to using the Elvis app for adding files from Elvis to Content Station 9, files can be dragged from the Elvis Pro client to Content Station.

  • Dragging files from Elvis to Content Station. This is available for all versions of Content Station.
