The Elvis Migration Tool is used for migrating an Elvis Server 4 environment to an Elvis Server 6 environment.
Migration is done by using the Elvis Migration Tool. This article describes how to install this tool.
Note: Instructions for running and accessing the tool can be found by following the documentation about the migration.

Installation
The installation steps consist of installing the Java SE Development kit (needed for running the Migration Tool), and installing the Migration Tool itself.
Installing the Java SE Development kit
Step 1. Install the Java SE Development Kit 8 in order to run the Migration tool.

Enter the following command in the Terminal: sudo yum install -y java-x-x.x-openjdk |
Installing the Migration Tool
Step 1. Download the latest version from the Elvis software download page.
Step 2. Unzip the downloaded file somewhere on the system.
Note for Linux only: Place the Migration Tool in the main Elvis 6 Server folder, create a folder called 'logs' in that folder and set the ownership to 'elvissrv:elvissrv'. This makes sure that 'elvissrv' can access the Migration Tool and write log files for it.
