Minimum hardware requirements for an Elvis server:
- Core 2 Duo Intel processor
- 4 to 8 GB RAM
- 300 GB Hard disk space
Recommended hardware requirements:
- The hardware required to offer the best performance for Elvis depends heavily on how Elvis will be used in an organization. See the hardware recommendation for main server and processing servers and a few hardware examples.
- Use local storage, or use a stable block-level protocol like Fibre or iSCSI to attach your network storage. The use of network shares based on file-level protocols like SMB/CIFS, AFP or NFS can be unstable or slow. See also Solutions for storing files with Elvis 4 Server.
- The Hot Data folder must be located on a fast local disk, preferably on fast SSD's or even FusionIO. If placed on a network drive, SMB/CIFS, AFP or NFS, you are going to run into indexing errors.
