Uninstalling Elvis 4 Server involves performing the following steps:
- Backing up existing files
- De-activating licenses

1. Backing up existing files
Create a backup of your installation by backing up the following locations:
- Your Elvis/Config folder
- Your Elvis/Hot Data folder
- Your Elvis/Elvis Data folder
- Your launch configuration
Note: Especially your Config folder can be useful in case you want to reinstall Elvis later.
2. De-activating licenses
Step 1. With Elvis Server running, access the Elvis Server License page.
Step 2. De-activate active the licenses. Wait for the confirmation message that the de-activation was successful.
3. Uninstalling Elvis 4 Server
Access the Elvis Server entry in the windows Start Menu, click Uninstall and follow the instructions.

(Optional) Start your cleanup of /var/tmp/ again (Elvis will have put some files there). See Installing Elvis server for information about /var/tmp cleanup.
