Even though many of the tasks of creating and publishing a story to print or to Adobe DPS are done in InDesign or InCopy, you can still create a story for such a Publication Channel in Content Station by creating articles and by managing the content of the Dossier.
This article describes how to work with a Dossier for creating a story for print or for Adobe DPS.
Step 1. Open the Dossier that represents your story or create a new Dossier.
Step 2. In the Publication Channel pane, choose the Print Publication Channel to which you want to publish the story.
Figure: The Print Publication Channel selected in the Channel pane.
Note: In case a Publication Channel for print or Adobe DPS is not listed, add it first.
Step 2a. In the Publication Channel pane, click the Add Publication Channel button.
Figure: The Add Publication Channel button (A) in the Publication Channel pane.
A window appears showing a list of channels.
Step 2b. Choose a channel that has been set up for print or Adobe DPS and click OK.
The Publication Channel is added to the Publication Channel pane.
Step 2c. Select the channel.
The Dossier page for that channel appears. All panes are empty because no content has been assigned to the channel yet.
Info: This feature requires Content Station version 9.5.0 or higher.
Step 3. Add one or more articles by doing one of the following:
- Create a new article by clicking Article in the toolbar and follow the steps.
- Add an existing article by clicking Browse in the toolbar and follow the steps.
Once added, the articles and their components are shown in the Article pane:
You now have a good overview of which articles are going to be published to this particular channel.
If needed, you can:
- Edit the article by changing the text and by using the tools in the toolbars.
- Preview the article as it is placed on the layout by clicking Preview.
Note: A preview is only available once the article is placed on a layout in InDesign.
- View the files that have been assigned to this channel by clicking Files.
