The following overview shows the types of content that can be copied and pasted in an InCopy article in Content Station, as well as any possible restrictions that exist.
Paragraph styles and character styles
- Can be copied and pasted within the same article but not between articles.
- When pasting in a paragraph, the target paragraph style is used.
- When pasting on a fully selected paragraph, the source paragraph style is used.
- When pasting multiple paragraphs, the target paragraph style is used for the first and last paragraph, except when either the first or last paragraph is selected (in which case the source paragraph style is used for the selected paragraph).
- When pasting in an empty line, the source paragraph style is used.
Hyperlinks
- Can be copied and pasted within the same article and between articles.
Tables
- Can be copied and pasted within the same article but not between articles.
Numbered lists and bulleted lists
- Can be copied and pasted within the same article and between articles.
- When pasting a single element (bullet or number) between existing elements, the pasted element does not change (for example: pasting a bullet in a numbered list will result in a bullet between the numbered elements).
- When pasting a list over a selected paragraph, the paragraph is fully replaced by the list.
- When pasting on a list with multiple items where the first item is fully selected and the last item is partially selected, the list type of the partially selected list item is used.
- When pasting in an empty line, the source list style is used.
