Invalid asset error when checking-in a layout with Smart Connection for use in Adobe DPS

When checking-in a layout to an Issue that is set up for publishing to Adobe DPS, an error may occur similar to the following:

  • Error: Invalid asset
  • Error: Unable to export Hotspot on page 1; "Invalid asset".

When a layout is saved to the system, various validations are performed to check if the content is set up correctly. This particular error appears when URLs are not entered correctly, for instance a URL for a Web Element.

To resolve this, make sure that the URL is entered in full and does not end with a forward slash.
