Issue: When working with an article using the Multi-Channel Text Editor in Content Station 9 (such as performing a compose, preview or PDF operation), the following error appears:
“Layout has not been saved”
Analysis: This can happen in the following situations:
- The Layout has not been saved after an article has been placed. This behavior is as expected (by design). It means that because the layout has not yet been saved in InDesign, no geometrical information (position and size of the frame) is available.
- An article placed on the pasteboard is not shown. This is as expected (by design): pasteboard items are not included in the preview in Content Station.
- Any bad (but non-fatal) error occurred in InDesign Server. No pages are found in the layout that are related to the article frames that are shown in the article preview in Content Station, therefore Enterprise Server assumes that the layout has not been saved. The logging of InDesign Server (in the workspace folder and the InDesign Server application folder) is important to analyze.
