Remarks regarding “NOT” conditions are not correct for latest Elvis 6 builds. Queries like “!extension:jpg" or "!tags:*" do work even not preceded by "*:*”. The first returns “all except jpg files”, the last “all without keywords”.

    Hi Sergei,

Have you noticed this in the latest builds only? I'm not aware that something has changed in this area, but please submit this issue to WoodWing Support with details about the versions of Elvis in which you have noticed this so that it can be investigated.

    Thank you.

I don't see anything in this document about the length of searches. I have a feeling that for reliable matching, search terms must have a length of at least 3 characters. Could something be added about that to this page?

Example that may render unexpected results otherwise:

Set a text field "credit" value to "country code NL"

    Now make these searches:

    • credit:"country code NL": 1 result (yay!)
    • credit:"country code NLD": 0 (yay!)
    • credit:"country code DE": 1 result (eh?)

When the value of NL is changed to "NLD" and I repeat the searches, I get the following results:

    • credit:"country code NL": 0 (yay!)
    • credit:"country code DE": 1 (eh?)
    • credit:"country code NLD": 1 (yay!)

    Hi Siebrand,

Because the examples you give show unexpected results, I have turned your question into a ticket for our Support team to investigate.
They will reply to you via that ticket. If it results in updating the documentation we will process that too.

    Best regards,
